From Crisis to Export: Recipe of National Champion Companies
In the context of the large-scale economic crisis that broke out in 2020, the question arises not only about finding ways to stop its consequences, but also about possible drivers of future growth. Technology entrepreneurs from the medium-sized companies’ segment are not only able to effectively develop innovations, but also have sufficient experience and potential to create new leading companies that can provide a way out of the crisis. In this regard, it is especially important to notice the know-how that such companies are beginning to use in the context of the crisis and post-crisis development.
One of the ways that Russian leading technology companies choose today is the development of exports. The analysis conducted by the Association of National Champions shows that in 2020 many of these companies did not curtail their export plans, but strengthen their programs to conquer the world market.
The vast majority of companies are optimistic about export prospects in 2020 and 2021. They often try to use state support tools, although they believe that such support should be strengthened.
